If you get the bridges done, does the heat from welding them in cause any movement in the valve area requiring a valve job ??

If I was to do this kind of modification I would remove the valve seats, weld the bridges in place, have the cylinder head re-heat treated, machine all the surfaces, put in the seats then line-bore or hone the camshaft bores - that would be the right way to do it.
If all you choose to do is have the bridges welded in place then be ready to do what ever machining is necessary, the head will most likely need to be milled and you could possibly need to have the valve seats re-cut.

What is the best way to strengthen the head??
I'm running NO2 on it now and am interested in trying to stay ahead of any breakage if i can!

What ever you do to a stock cylinder head is only going to be a band aid, if you are planning on making allot of power, then I would suggest going with a Vortex head.

Any help is very much appreciated!!

Sorry it has taken so long for me to notice the notification - this new forum :-(

My question is....how can I make it stronger - preventative maintenance wise.

Best thing you can do as far as preventive maintenance goes is to be sure your parts are good to begin with.
First thing to do would be to have the head checked to see how bad the crack is, this will require using a Magna-flux process of some type. My experience has shown me that cracks are never just on the top of the head but begin in the combustion camber and work their way out from there.

I've seen some of the older MTC heads with bridges welded in......good idea??? or not???

Allot of guys have welded the bridges in and have had good luck, Dave use to have his stock heads bridged, but he always started with a new head.
