    valve spring bind?

guys, I'm putting a new head on my bike with new cams... it seems like my valve adjustment is super close to coil bind. when I put the rockers at zero lash to check timing I get coil bind...

should I reduce the shims a tad to get a bit more clearance from the bind point or just run a bit more lash on the rockers? zero lash at the rockers was easy to do but to set actual clearance per the manual like .008 on the exhaust do i simply use a feeler gauge between the cam lobe and the rocker? thanks!

Update: i measured the lift of the cam and it over spec and ate up my extra spring clearnce..Ill make new shims...

fix the shim stack, keep about .040" before bind at full lift. IF you loose the seat pressure you are looking for you might need some other springs.
